Rifle Shots is the story of a community on the Western Slope of Colorado.  Rifle itself, was first a cow town and shipping center for cattle and horses driven from far and near.  Later it developed into an agricultural center with surrounding farms and orchards.
The purpose of the book is not to emphasize the unusual or spectacular, but rather to record the accomplishments of true pioneers who by hard work and courage in their daily lives were the builders of the community.
